Elk Falls Pulp Mill

Project Details

This project consisted of the demolition and hazardous material abatement of Phase 2 at the former Elk Falls Pulp Mill in Campbell River, B.C.

With some of the buildings to be demolished nearly 100 feet in height, this was one of the largest projects completed in BC at that time, along with the Skeena Pulp Mill demolition on Watson Island, Price Rupert (which was demolished simultaneously). Our Volvo 460 High-Reach Excavator allowed us to complete both large-scale demolition projects quickly, safely, and efficiently.

We successfully salvaged over 6,000 tonnes of scrap steel which was barged out and sent for recycling.
