Trapp Highrise Buildings and Parking Structure

Project Details

This project required the demolition of 7 adjoining multi-use, high-rise buildings of various heights in downtown New Westminster, BC.

These buildings went down several levels into underground parkades, with some up to 7 storeys high. There was a historic façade with Columbia Street frontage which had to be preserved and maintained for future use. The rear of the buildings backed onto busy Front Street, with portions of the parkade structure extending overhead this high-traffic street.

This project required careful planning and extreme caution, to ensure nothing fell onto the busy sidewalks or roads below in this high-traffic area of New Westminster.
